    The immediate benefit was as you mentioned... naming. The fact that it's also a foundation
for future work is great, but there's at least some benefit now (even if naming is a trivial
benefit). In any case, the wrapper is also used for some convenience constants, and isn't
hurting anything. It's still a single file.
