Keith Turner commented on ACCUMULO-502:
---------------------------------------

Responding in the correct place, I had responded on the mailing list overlooking that this
was a ticket.

I think the only use for PerColumnIteratorConfig is to configure aggregators, which are also
deprecated in favor of combiners. So I think PerColumnIteratorConfig was deprecated when
aggregators were deprecated.

The replace would be using ColumnSet and Combiners.

> I pulled a new copy of trunk and noticed that a deprecated class is being used. I tried
some code spelunking:
> $ svn -v blame core/src/main/java/org/apache/accumulo/core/iterators/conf/PerColumnIteratorConfig.java
> 1178655 kturner 2011-10-03 20:46:07 -0400 (Mon, 03 Oct 2011) * @deprecated since
1.4
> $ svn log -r 1178656:1178654
> r1178655 | kturner | 2011-10-03 20:46:07 -0400 (Mon, 03 Oct 2011) | 1 line
> ACCUMULO-1 initial checkin of source code
> What should be used in place of PerColumnIteratorConfig? Can that information be added
to the PerColumnIteratorConfig.java file?
