What about within content?  For instance, in Tim Bray's feed:
http://www.tbray.org/ongoing/ongoing.atom there's summary & content
elements with the following in it: <a
href='/ongoing/When/200x/2006/06/15/Switch-From-Mac'>  Could Abdera
help resolve these href's?
