I'm now seeing the problem in other environments. I'm still not sure why it's happening and
why it's not reproducible. It could be a Stax implementation issue rather than Abdera issue.

Attaching a speculative patch. Without knowing why it's happening, it's hard to say whether
this is a definitive fix.
